Rental Terms
Effective October 13, 2026
These terms apply to LED display rentals by LumiVue, a business name of 16570186 Canada Inc. ("LumiVue"), to its customer (the "renter"). They form part of the rental agreement signed at booking. If the agreement says otherwise, the agreement applies.
1. Booking and payment
The first rental week and the deposit are paid before delivery. Additional weeks are invoiced under the rental agreement. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus tax.
2. Deposit
A refundable deposit is required; the amount is set out in the agreement. It is refunded after the return inspection, less any amounts owing under these terms.
3. Inspection at delivery and return
At delivery and at return, LumiVue and the renter inspect the equipment together and LumiVue takes dated photos. These photos establish the condition of the equipment.
4. Damage, loss and theft
The renter is responsible for the equipment from delivery until pickup. The renter pays the cost of repair or replacement for damage, loss or theft, other than normal wear. This cost is applied to the deposit first; the balance is invoiced to the renter.
5. Insurance or damage waiver
Before delivery, the renter provides proof of insurance covering the rented equipment for its replacement value, or chooses the damage waiver offered by LumiVue. The waiver's price, coverage and limits are set out in the quote.
6. Late return
Each late day is charged pro rata at the weekly rate (weekly rate ÷ 7) until the equipment is returned.
7. Cancellation
Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the scheduled delivery. After that, the delivery fee is kept and the rest of any amount paid is refunded.
8. Use of the equipment
- Equipment intended for indoor use stays indoors, away from rain and moisture.
- The equipment stays at the delivery address; it may not be moved elsewhere without LumiVue's written consent.
- The renter does not open, modify or repair the equipment, and tells LumiVue about any problem right away.
- The renter does not sublet, lend or pledge the equipment.
9. Displayed content
The renter alone is responsible for the content it displays. The renter must hold the necessary rights (copyright, trademarks, images) and make sure the content is lawful, including the rules on public signage and commercial advertising in Quebec, such as the Charter of the French language. The renter holds LumiVue harmless from any claim related to the displayed content.
10. Site readiness
The renter provides a standard grounded electrical outlet near the planned location and safe, clear access for delivery and pickup. If delivery or pickup cannot take place at the agreed time for a reason within the renter's control, an extra trip may be charged at the delivery rate.
11. Ownership and liability
The equipment remains LumiVue's property at all times. To the extent permitted by law, LumiVue's liability is limited to the rental amount paid, and LumiVue is not liable for indirect losses, such as lost sales due to an interruption. Nothing in these terms limits LumiVue's liability for intentional or gross fault, or the rights a consumer has under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act.
12. Governing law and language
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. They are written in French and English; if they differ, the French version prevails.
